CASA student researcher receives CRA award.

UMass Computer Science junior Michael Krainin received an Honorable Mention in the national Computing Research Association’s (CRA) Outstanding Undergraduate Award competition for 2008. Krainin was nominated based on his CASA-related undergraduate research on distributed negotiation as a resource allocation mechanism in radar sensing networks. Impressively, Krainin not only designed distributed negotiation algorithms, but has programmed them and incorporated them into the CASA IP1 test bed. This work grew out of Michael’s summer REU project. Krainin’s research was supervised by UMass Computer Science Professor Victor Lesser.
